Psy and Snoop Dogg get drunk togther in “Hangover” music video

Psy and Snoop Dogg Hangover

It has been a while since we’ve seen Psy bust out his crazy dance moves in an annoying catchy song. Good news for those who have been waiting: Psy recently collaborated with Snoop Dogg in a song called “Hangover.” The title of the song is pretty self-explanatory and the video features Snoop Dogg and Psy taking shots of soju, singing at norebang (karaoke), and getting wasted together. Throw in some random dance moves and you got yourself another viral Psy video. After one day, it already has over 9 million views. This song just might be the jam of the summer!

“Gangnam Style” tourist police protect visitors from getting ripped off

Gangnam style tourism police

It looks like South Korea is still taking advantage of Psy and the popularity of Gangnam Style, even when it comes to their tourist police. Kim Seo-ryong, the designer of Psy’s quirky and stylish costumes, was also hired to design the uniforms for the officers. The uniforms consist of slim-cut pants, bright blue jackets, berets, and of course the signature dark sunglasses.

So what exactly is a tourist police? Apparently they are responsible for protecting visitors from getting ripped off, in addition to helping visitors by speaking Chinese, Japanese, and English. With my luck in bargaining and shopping in foreign countries, I really could’ve used the help of one of these guys!

And what better way to introduce the new tourism police force to the public than to have them perform Gangnam Style?

Lady busts some crazy moves to Psy’s “Gentleman”

So we all know Psy is notorious for his quirky and addicting dance moves. However, this lady just looks plain crazy when dancing to his song, “Gentleman.” I’m not sure if she’s competing in a dance-off or if she’s just randomly bustin’ out some freaky moves, but it’s quite entertaining to watch. Though I must admit, I was afraid she’d pull a muscle or break a bone.

Gangnam Style plays at funeral homes in Nanjing

Although Psy’s new song, Gentleman, is rapidly growing in popularity, there’s still remnants of Gangnam Style playing…even in funeral homes. In Nanjing, the capital of the Jiangsu province of China,  netizens have reported hearing the catchy song play at funerals. While most people think such a comical song would be inappropriate to play at a somber occasion, I don’t think it’s as bad as having strippers dance for the dead!

Psy’s new video,”Gentleman,” already has millions of views

After Psy took over the world with Gangnam Style, I figured it would be hard for him to create any song after that would live up to the same hype. He recently released a video for his new song, “Gentleman” which also has a catchy tune, although I’m not sure if it’s as addicting as Gangnam Style. The video is also quirky with a lot of “WTF” moments, like him undoing girls’ bikini tops and taking a bite out of animal intestines wrapped around his neck. Our favorite “yellow-suit” character from the Gangnam Style video also appears in Gentleman.

As for the main dance move, it isn’t as physically exerting as the horse-riding move, but it involves some hip action similar to the one done in the elevator scene from Gangnam Style. I admit, I’ve already caught myself swaying my hips while watching Gentleman. The lyric, “I’m a mother-father gentleman,” is also repeated throughout the song, which I’m sure is meant to sound a lot like an English profanity.

The YouTube video was released on Psy’s official account on April 13, and it already has over 30 million views! Do you think it will surpass Gangnam Style?

Gangnam Style returns as flipbook animation

Even though the Gangnam Style craze has slowly died out, there are still some fanatics out there with a lot of time on their hands. If you’re not sick of the catchy song yet, check out this epic flipbook animation of the entire music video. I’m impressed with how realistic the dance moves look, and who doesn’t love the elevator scene?

It’s official! Psy signs with Justin Bieber’s agency

So the rumors are true: Psy has officially signed on with Justin Bieber’s agency, Island Records. However, there’s no word yet whether that will result in a collaboration with Justin Bieber to do an American remake of Gangnam Style.

The excitement doesn’t end there.  It’s also been announced that Psy will be attending the MTV VMA’s on September 6. I sure hope he’ll be performing at the VMA’s. That will surely make VMA history.

Justin Bieber rumored to do US remake of Gangnam Style

In recent Gangnam Style news, the craze has spread internationally, catching the attention of none other than Mr. Bieber himself. Korean media reported that PSY, the Korean hip-hop singer behind Gangnam Style, left for Los Angeles this week to meet US pop star Justin Bieber to discuss collaboration opportunities.

It’s still too early to know when, and if this collaboration will happen. However, I’m curious whether the teen pop idol will come out with something more suited for his “cool” image, or will he let his inner goofiness out. Either way, I hope it will be better than Hyuna’s version!

PSY releases 2nd version of Gangnam Style

If you’ve had enough of the original Gangnam Style, PSY just released a second version of the infamous song. However, this rendition features the Korean pop-idol, Hyuna, singing the main verses instead. Hyuna played PSY’s fantasy girl in the first video.

Honestly, the first thing that came to mind when I heard this version was, why does she sound like Pikachu? And although the dance moves are the same, it’s missing the random “WTF” craziness that only PSY, himself, can portray. After watching this version, I immediately went back to watch the original one. Nothing compares!
