Sometimes being a little too creative in your marketing strategy can get you in trouble. A massage parlor and car wash outlet in Malaysia was recently raided by the police for offering free sex to loyal customers who get their car washed over nine times within a certain time period. During the routine raid, nine Vietnamese women, believed to be prostitutes aged between 18 and 28, were arrested.

The clues that linked the sex ring to the car wash: suspicious customer loyalty cards as well as a stash of condoms hidden inside a microwave.

Look closely.  Drivers in China are slowing down instinctively after seeing what looks like a highway patrol car.  But after passing by the vehicle, it turns out it’s actually just a cardboard cutout placed on the side of the road!  The cutouts even have a solar-powered flashing light to make it look super realistic.  The point is to reduce speeding by making drivers think that cops are close.

Love it or hate it, you gotta admit it’s kind of amazing how people in China can figure out a cheap way to get the job done!

In response to immigrants’ rights protesters calling for the boycott of Arizona’s products, AriZona Iced Tea quickly released a statement certifying their authenticity as a New Yorker.

“AriZona Iced Tea proudly traces its origins back to New York,” said founder Don Vultaggio. “In 1992, two hard working guys from Brooklyn with a dream created AriZona Iced Tea. Since then … we have remained loyal to our family-run business based in New York. For the last 16 years, our headquarters have remained on Long Island.”

Angry opponents of Arizona’s harsh new immigration law, in which police have the right to check the papers of anyone they think looks undocumented (it’s pretty much racial profiling), mistakenly targeted their anger towards the unfortunate tea company. The real Arizona-based companies that are facing a potential boycott include Cold Stone Creamery, U-Haul, Best Western and US Airways. Several cities are also considering an economic boycott of Arizona. In fact, San Francisco has already moved to ban city-related travel to Arizona.

These cops are ballin’ it for the upcoming Shanghai World Expo with their BMW 5 Series patrol cars. The 22 white BMW cars, designated for the World Expo escorts, have the word “police” stamped on their hoods and sirens attached on the top of the cars. Come on guys, I was expecting better. I had my hopes up for Ferrari patrol cars.
