The last thing you want to confuse as something potentially edible is a sex toy. Recently, a ”mysterious mushroom” described as “long and fleshy” was discovered in the rural part of Liucunbu, outside the capital of Shaanxi province in China. Xi’an Up Close, a Chinese investigative news program was quick to report about the object. According to the subtitles, the clueless reporter said, “As we can all see, this looks like a type of fungus, on both ends of which you’ll find mushroom heads.”
Unaware of what it really was, the villagers kept the toy in a bucket of water. They even went far to theorize that it could be a type of lingzhi mushroom which is found in the region and known to increase longevity.
Either way, I’m really glad this X-rated item did not end up in a restaurant as a special of the day.
