Many of you probably watched the emotional audition of Choi Sung-Bong, a contestant in Korea’s Got Talent, and are curious to know if he
won. Well, Choi came in second place. But there’s no doubt that he placed first in the hearts of many around the world.
Left at an orphanage at the age of three, he ran away when he was five due to threats of being beaten up. Up until 2006, he was living in a container box in the red light district. To make money, he sold drinks and gum at night clubs, where he was inspired by the singers.
While Choi recalls times when he wanted to take his own life, his life transformed after his experience on the show. He now claims the show has given him a reason to live.
Check out his inspirational story below! I still tear up every time I watch his original audition.
