Teenagers getting botox is just another example of kids growing up too fast these days. Filipina teen singing sensation, Charice Pempengco, 18, has been making waves in the news with her botox injections and skin-tightening treatments. This is apparently not a rare occurrence. Last year, about 12,000 Americans aged 13 to 19 were injected with botox, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
“I want to look fresh when I appear before the camera,” Charice reasoned. The young singer was also preparing for her upcoming role in Glee, a show that ironically revolves around the theme of personal acceptance. Personally, I think Charice’s round, pre-botox face looked way cuter and more “fresh.”
Charice seems to have a very different mentality compared to the Chinese armless man we just wrote about, who overcame his disability to become a piano player.

Update: Charice’s rep says that the botox was “to relieve a jaw problem similar to TMJ.” According to her rep, the only cosmetic thing Charice has ever done is get her hair dyed at the Brad Johns Studio at Elizabeth Arden in NYC.

I must say that your pictures of Charice were taken before the B incident happened which you should mention she was forced to get from her malicious and business oriented doctor (Belo) with a very bad reputation. Please do not use Charice to gain mileage for your website just like Belo who gives Charice and other Philippine stars free facials in exchange of publicity. Everyone wants to ride on the popularity of this kid who’s innocent and just wants to sing from her heart and love to the world. Please stop this botox non-sense. Let’s move on. Charice is moving on and learning to untrust people as she is realizing how cruel this world could be. Sad not to trust people but she’s learning the ropes of adulthood. Remember she just turned 18 and needs to learn from her experience with the help of responsible adults… to live her dreams amidst the many selfish people around.
I don’t think botox= growing up too fast as botox = self-indulgence/ vanity. Unless the botox injected numbs the veins to ease the pain of a migraine, I see no other reason why anyone really needs it other than cosmetic purposes. There really is no difference between the Before and After shot. Face is still round, she just has a better make-up artist.
Yea man, lets put this issue aside,no one got hurt, the only sad thing is that Charice is the one who paid the prize and she is “ASIAN”.
I think this is a much bigger problem than just Charice mistrusting one person. People, and especially young girls, have been brain-washed to think that you have to look like a model in a magazine or look like a Hollywood actress to be beautiful and that’s completely wrong! You can have small eyes, round cheeks, darker-than-white skin and still be really, really beautiful. Girls her age got to learn to love themselves more!!
@ben: this is the internet and the everybody is entitled to their opinion and post. and its not to gain “mileage” for the website as every magazine and newspaper does it. Its news, PERIOD. Want to disagree? Check out ABS CBN and GMA 7 and even other news outlets.
I’m assuming you’re filipino and if you’re going to get angry, I’m filipino too, I know my pride and support fellow filipino who make it internationally. As much as I value your opinion, its too defamatory for this website. Yes, we should move on, but don’t go on a blame game on a website accusing them to defame our “star”. You’re just making filipinos look bad for your overzealous defensive measures.
Don’t go defending every filipino who makes it at the top because that’s their problem… problem for being popular.
