Armless man plays piano, stuns China’s Got Talent audience

by Suzie Leung on August 14, 2010

Liu Wei lost his arms at age ten when he accidentally touched a high-voltage wire while playing hide-and-seek.  In those few seconds, his life was completely changed.  Then, at age 19, Liu Wei decided to pursue his passion of playing the piano.  Now 23 years old, he’s competing for first place in the Chinese TV show, China’s Got Talent.

“For people like me, there were only two options, ” he said. “One was to abandon all dreams, which would lead to a quick, hopeless death.  The other was to struggle without arms to love an outstanding life.”

I’m completely inspired by Liu Wei’s resilience and determination.  And you can really feel the emotion flowing out of his music.

He’d probably look better in the camera if he just tightened up his skin a little bit and got some botox injections.
