Vietnamese pop culture strikes again

by Amy Nguyen on July 22, 2010

I’m not sure if this is worse than the Vietnamese rendition of Numa Numa but it’s pretty close.  The song is entitled “Dep Trai Ao Dai,” which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because dep trai means handsome and ao dai is the Vietnamese traditional Dress.  Either way, rapping while wearing the traditional dress and doing the  Yung Joc move (minute 2:44) just doesn’t quite scream chart-topping to me.

(Thanks, Irwin!)

This is so painful and uncomfortable to watch. Wow.

Seriously? Seriously? How did we go from the likes of Trinh Cong Son to this? I am beyond ashamed for them. Do something meaningful and original would ya!
