Eric Bahn is my hero. There I sat – discouraged and alone, struggling my way through GMAT studying, searching for answers (math answers, to be exact). Then, I stumbled on Eric Bahn’s website, Beat the GMAT. My nerdy life was transformed.
Eric Bahn started Beat the GMAT in 2005 in a Stanford University dorm room. But what began as a humble study blog for the GMAT has grown into the web’s largest content aggregator of GMAT and MBA advice. For me, it is no doubt the richest and most interactive study resource that I’ve ever come across.
When I’m in dire need of a morale boost, I read a couple of encouraging “I just beat the GMAT!” testimonies, stories of people who have succeeded and are encouraging others to jia you! (fob translation: Add oil! Keep going!). When I’m stumped on a practice question, I do a quick search of the website’s forum, and nine times out of 10 I will find that someone else has already posted about that same question. If not, I’ll do a quick post and, literally, within 15 minutes I’ll get a response from a fellow studier or expert GMAT instructor. It’s so reassuring to feel that even though I’m studying by myself, I know there’s a ton of people out there going through the same thing, all willing to help each other. Oh, and did I mention this wonderful resource is free?
Eric Bahn, you are this fob’s nerdy heartthrob!
